what is your greatest extravagance?

it would have to be a tie between books and massage. i love them both and they’re both, in my world, guilty pleasures.

books are simply a given.  i have been addicted to them since i was old enough to hold one and turn the pages.  there’s a picture of me, around 2 years old, holding a winnie-the-pooh book (wearing boots no less). i asked my mother about the picture once, commenting about how cute it was that i was pretending to read. she looked at me strangely and informed me that i *was* reading.

massage is another almost must. touch is simply inherent for me to be a happy, well-adjusted, grounded human being. i tend towards some pain and muscle tension, despite all the hurdles in my health i have overcome, and massage is one of the only ‘treatments’ i have ever found that has no unwanted side effects and improves my overall well-being, not just reducing my pain.

i’d add naps to this list, but then i’d just seem like an extravagant lush.
